How to Build a Clean Display for Your Figures

A clean display makes a huge difference to how your collection feels. As your collection grows it can get crowded fast, so the key is giving each character enough space to stand out while still working as part of a larger layout. Especially with 6 inch figures as these take up more space on your shelf!

Start by clearing the shelf or desk you want to use. Decide whether you want a simple straight line or something more dynamic with height changes. Height is your friend. It lets you shape depth without needing a massive footprint. With a modular system like Figure Floor, you can create low steps or staggered levels that match your figures.

It was from this exact situation that Figure Floor was born! Most collectors grow their collections quite quickly and traditional risers, although great, do come with limitations. As the collection grows, the risers need replacing. Figure Floor was designed to grow with your collection, allowing you to add height or width as you go, block by block.

Keep your colours simple. Neutral bases help the figures take center stage and stop the setup from looking busy. This is also why we currently only provide Figure Floor in 4 base colours. Black, White, Red and Grey. Although we are currently running research into other colours that may prove popular or allow for collectors to add a feature section to their setup!

Once everything you have everything in place, add small adjustments to posing to avoid stiff, flat lines. A slight angle or a small twist in the body can bring the whole scene to life. Our 3.75 bases only have two pegs as most of these figures are more limited in articulation. Our 6 inch blocks have 4 pegs to allow for a variety of poses. Plus you don't have to use both the peg holes on a figure. You can use just one for an even more dynamic pose.

A clean display is never final. Keep tweaking as you add more characters, and enjoy the process as your layout evolves.
